Code of Conduct
Overview
Alpha Imperium is more than a collection of players. It is more than a social tab on your text window.
Alpha Imperium is commited to organizing member and providing opportunities to improve individual gaming experiences, guild experiences, and server community experiences.
This mission relies on two things: Co-operation and Respect.
We can't work to achieve these goals with infighting or feuding with players outside our guild.
The Code of Conduct relies on several points which will be discussed in more detail below.
Code
Members will:
Respect one another
Respect all outside of the guild and faction
Refrain from conduct or chat that brings real life into the game in a negative way
Uphold the Code of Conduct at all times
Seems simple enough, but there is plenty of room for interpretation and situations that will challenge your understanding of the Code.
Explanation
Respect one another:
The success of your guildmates represent your success as a member of the guild. If you are insulting your guildmate in anyway. .regardless of his/her offenses you are breaking the Code. It is the job of the Guild to judge member offenses, not its guild members. By treating everyone with respect and allowing Guild Leaders to deal with problems, you help to maintain order and strength within our ranks, which is necessary in achieving our goals.
Respect all outside the Guild and Faction:
Whether a rival Imperial guild or a Rebel you detest, regardless of insults or offenses... -AI- members will refrain from negative actions toward them.
It does us no good to squabble over meaningless comments. By responding in anyway, we validate that those comments have affected us, and in that we allow them to become truths. We are above any offenses and will not allow the negativity of others to derail the plans we have.
This is also important because the individual actions of our guild members in these situations affect our guild as a whole, along with everyone who carries the -AI- Tag. Others perception of our guild and our members is important as it allows us to grow in a positive way. For example think of guilds that exploit or trash talk... do you want to be a part of them? Would you want someone thinking you are a cheater or trashtalker because one of your guild members is breaking our Code?
Likewise when instances are ran inside or outside of the guild it is expected that the person who forms the group will either take the lead in organization and direction or assign someone who will. If the person does not any -AI- member should ask who will be leading the instance as to techniques for a successful completion. If it will not be the group leader make sure that one person is agreed upon by the group to lead. This person should be listened to and not argued with so of course the wisest choice will be one who has done it before or if its an -AI- group it should be a defined Raid Leader. This is not to say that you cannot ASK if you should use a specific method but this rule is meant to help make the runs smooth and free of argument that always come when a group does not have clear , proper direction. Do not complain if you disagree with the direction as this also makes us all look bad. This is a very serious rule for the guild as it has caused too many problems in the past when it is not followed.
Refrain from conduct or chat that brings real life into the game in a negative way:
When you log in please leave any personal issues, resentments, or hang ups out of the game. If someone insults you pertaining to these issues, do not partake in the exchange.
We want to create an environment where players young and old.. from all around the world.. from all walks of life... can come together and enjoy themselves in the Star Wars Universe. If everyone in our Tempest Community approached the game with this attitude, we would play in a much more enjoyable, welcoming, and creative game. I ask that members of -AI- champion this vision and help to create that world.
Uphold the Code of Conduct at all times:
Together we can accomplish anything we want in game.. and enjoy that mission every step of the way. A bad day is no reason to hurt the reputation of a fellow guildmate. And there is never a good reason to break the Code, and no defense will satisfy me. In wearing our tag you take up a responsibility, to all of your guildmates. Only when you are upholding the Code can you know that others are too. If you are slacking, its a good bet others are as well.
When meeting those outside the guild with the Code of Conduct in mind, we not only give them a good impression of us, but we create an oppurtunity for our Conduct to "rub off" on them. And through this, we can affect the whole server communities attitude.
Conclusion
Any questionable conversations, simply hit the printscreen button to save a copy of them.
Walk Away from insulting players or difficult situations if you think you might lose your cool. You take away your enemies power by ignoring them or leaving them altogether.
Contact Klendest about problems. I can help with anything. Your character is judged by your actions, which can affect your future in game. If you can't handle something, please ask for help.
The Code of Conduct does not limit your gaming experience. If trashtalking and insulting is your thing, then there are plenty of guilds for you to join. We will not part on bad terms if you choose proper conduct is not the route for you.
The Code is not based on arrogance. We are not trying to be better than others. It is based on respect. We are trying to be better than the poor conduct all to prevalent in our gaming experience.
